i was using IE for years, against everyone's advise, i recently had to give up on it for this very reason,

this was of course after full re-installs of windows and all updates applied, and of course disabling all add ons.

I am convinced Microsoft have gimped it, to push users over to use 'Edge' browser

I now use chrome
