I've just read an interesting article suggesting that the US navy would benefit from coming to some sort of mutual arrangement with the UK to build Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers for the US navy. With a different name, presumably, and with catapults and wires (which is an option in the design, apparently), but essentially the same ships. The article makes a good case for the US navy having a larger number of smaller aircraft carriers and why start from scratch when an allied country has already developed a very good one?
I think his basic point is sound and that quote from him is absolutely true, but he's hugely over-stating the case. No doubt he's greatly improved his health and his quality of life and he's probably increased his quantity of life too, but he hasn't made himself immortal with eternal youth and it's not true that everyone could do the same. Things like arthritis and osteoporosis exist.
