Never realised there was an entire scene with John Candy's character at the end explaining his story and in the final movie its chopped to just a line or 2. Steve Martin getting emotional just reading it. Apparently there was footage shot and and assembly cut made that was 3 hours 45 in duration, but the footage is just rotting away in a vault somewhere.
