*** Youtube/Video thread ***

I can't believe anyone believes all this nonsense. I work in one of the most famous buildings in the UK, built in the 1890s. It's famous for being full of dead stuff. Like millions and millions of dead things. It was a shelter during the war and had a secret military Comms station in it because "Hitler liked it too much to bomb it".

I've been all over the place at all hours of the day. Trust me, if ghosts existed, this would be their mother ship.

But nothing. Not even a squeal or a door slamming. Disappointed.
Fair enough. If that video contains CGI or special effects - it’s been done extremely well. I don’t even know how they’d do that for such a small channel.

I don't think it's either. It's people putting some actual thought in to it to make it believable, and it's genuinely well done.

I'm extremely sceptical and think very critically of everything so my first thoughts are why they wouldn't explore during the day, why they don't have proper lighting, why they're using night-vision despite having *some* lighting, etc. To be honest to get in the frame of mind for this kind of thing all they need to do is engross themselves (not hard in an environment like this) and have a third person do a reccy of the place beforehand and push over a door / slam a cupboard / whatever completely unexpectedly and unscripted to make them **** themselves. This gives the whole thing a very good air of authenticity as they'll be walking around hyping each other up to the point that anything will make them jump. Now slam a door in the distance (by an unseen third person) and they'll genuinely get a fright.

Then add in some creepy and dramatic sound effects in post, turn the lighting down even more, and voila.

Don't get me wrong, as entertainment it's bloody good and I can see why people get properly immersed in it, but anyone thinking it's real should probably have a word with themselves :D

Yeah.. I can sort of see something when the door goes, it looks like something barrels toward the camera. That’s gotta be cgi or something. In any case it freaked me out :D
