Yes indeed. Fred, and working class men of his generation as a whole, were a different breed.

Reminds me of this old footage of an older, heavy Don Whillans revisiting a route with Chris Bonnington and climbing it with traditional climbing kit.

A disgusting police stop. The policeman was probably justified in stopping the driver. But the way he conducts the rest of the incident is disgusting. While many police are great, this one is a good example of a bad apple causing the public to lose faith in them and turn against them.
