Oh the naivety there.
The LPWS wasn't just in the midlands, the laughing policeman was very much in use in bugs on the London repeaters in the 80s and 90s, GB3SL was hit the worst but NL got it as well.
Along with the squeakies.
Fun times, tracking them down.
One of my favourite songs ever, i have my daughter play it on piano everytime she comes home from Uni. That guy, if not a professional singer, was phenomonal.
It is indeed a wonderful song, so well sung by the man in the linked video, one of the best that I have heard.
I also liked the voice of this guy singing here...
