YouTube vids not displaying on forums

Hey all,

I've recently noticed that all YouTube videos that have been embedded in forum posts here are showing up as black squares, with no 'Play' button or anything visible. The YouTube website itself works fine.

I think I had this issue once before on my laptop and it was a Firefox bug, easily fixed, but I can't for the life of me remember how to fix it. Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks,
Steven

PS: Also having a persistent issue where the sound cuts out momentarily whenever a video goes from windowed to fullscreen or vice-versa. This doesn't happen on my laptop, and while it's not the end of the world, it's certainly annoying. It's not limited to YouTube either, all Flash videos seem to do it.

Apparently I do - just tried installing the latest version and it says I already have it. Good shout though, I didn't think to check that (though I did just build this thing relatively recently).

Ah, that seems to have worked. The dire warnings on the Adobe page make it sound like disabling protected mode is more like treating the symptoms than the cause, so I'll try the more detailed steps on that page later on to see if I can re-enable protected more and still keep the videos working. Thanks!

Protected mode was only added with Flash 11.3 and it has a ton of issues with Firefox atm, it shouldn't need disabling but until Adobe sort themselves out there's not really a solution.

Thing is, I had no problem with this up until a few days or a week ago, and I've had this PC up and running for at least a month. I'm not sure what's changed recently - maybe a Firefox update? I seem to recall an update to Firefox 14.0 in the not too distant past.
