Yuraku 24 inch (the YV24?)

Yep, well that's the one I have and I have to say made up with it... cost £215 quid Inv VAT and del... it's got 1 dead pixel which is annoying, but I only see that when the whoe screen is black and even then you don't notice it...

It's a fantastic monitor and PVA obviously... the viewing angle is ace, excellent colour reproduction and the 6ms response time, which I was thinking may be a problem isn't at all... I play FPS'ers most of the time and never get any horrible ghost effects.

Certainly worth considering... downsides... well, the build quality isn't upto much at all, not bad, bit not good either... the stand isn't fantastic but is perfect for me... so we'll have to see how it goes... I've got a EP30HD player connected to the DVI socket and it's lovely when viewing HD material...

I ended up buying it. Initial impressions are pretty good.

Only problem is when I plugged it in the resolution was set to 1680*1050 for my previous monitor and the screen was all green and ghosting like hell. but when I knocked the resolution up to 1980x1200 everything was fine.

Had the same problem when I run a game at 1650 res. I already had to take me first monitor back as it wouldn't turn on, this is the second one. Any issues, perhaps it drivers.
 
Has anyone worked out the 'perfect' settings for this monitor yet? I have the Samsung LO1 monitor and everything either too bright, or too green!
 
Turns out it was a problem with the refresh rate. All is ok now.

With DVI it's great. sharp image, nice colours. But over VGA it's not so hot. Maybe that's becuase of the size of the monitor. Perhaps DVI comes into it's own with larger screens

Good stuff, nice to see your'e sorted matey...

Don't see why not though, I'm running VGA with mine and it's perfect as I haven't got a DVi cable so... maybe I'm missing out then but I have NO worries with the picture quality, but then again, when you haven't appreciated better you end up happy.... wonder how much DVI cables are then...

Right, here's my settings and to be honest, haven't mucked about too much... but they work for me... slightly harsher red than I'd have ona big TV, but for gaming I find this works...

Brightness = 37%
Colour Temp = 6500k
Phase = 75%
Contrast = 55%

Yeah like I say fella... haven't really mucked about too much, but it's quite a ncie picture... sure I could get more out the panel, but enjoying benchmarking and playing games that much, haven't bothered :p

The VGA connector was never really intended to carry anything higher than 640x480. 1920x1200 is pushing it right to the edge. Generating a digital image out of a mushy VGA signal at that res is hard enough that most cheaper monitors don't do a very good job of it.

Even expensive ones with good signal processing hardware as still going to come up well short of DVI's image quality and stability.
 
I thought as much.

Although judging from my picture I'm surprised pugheaven thinks it's good (no offence, it may well be my setup), mine really is quite blurry. Maybe it's an issue with this display as the image through my previous monitor on VGA was much sharper, although it was 20" 1680 res.

It also might have something to do with Linux. It picks the monitor up as a CRT which might be causing issues. My windows box hasn't got vga to test it on there.

It's not a huge deal I don't suppose was just a little disappointed by the VGA performance. But I bought it mainly for gaming and through DVI its pretty good. Maybe a high quality cable would help?

It's a shame monitors don't have two DVI inputs.

Now on my second Yaruka due to a black horizontal line accross screen that appeared soon after recieving it; got home tonight and switched this one on only to find the line has appeared on this one too.

Have decided to get money back and wait for the Hazro to come back into stock.

Bought the Yaruka from a competitor which I truly regret as there support and time of replacment was awful.

Sorry to hear that fella, luckily 3 weeks into owning this and it's been solid... but that's not really a test is it... I'll update in 12 months time ;)

Do you think i'll be able to get a refund? If so I think i'll go for the Hazro when Overclockers have it back in stock.
 
My Yuraku arrived yesterday. I LOVE IT! Not a single dead pixel in sight. :D The stand is not wildly impressive :rolleyes: but it is at least low profile, which I like. The bezel is smart and glossy; looks very nice. Power LED is not too bright for me, as it remains below my main line of sight.

Picture quality is SUPERB! I paid £215 inc. for this monitor ("brand spanking new", as Max Moseley would say) and it is worth every penny. I have to speed up my mouse, or it takes forever to cross the screen. :p

Used the settings recommended by pugheaven (thanks mate) except for the temperature, which I have set at 9300k.

This monitor is unbelievably good. Can't wait to give it a proper workout with some games. :cool:
