YZ 250F help needed.

Afriend of mine owns the above moto x bike, after taking it out on the track last weekend he noticed that the oil chamber in the frame seems dry from the dip stick, this being his first 4 stroke he isnt to sure on what oil is supposed to be in there.
If someone has an idea it would be great, he is supposed to be using it tommorow and doesnt want to risk damaging the bike.

Can't help you myself sorry, only really know anything about two-strokes, but a great place to get advice would be www.mxtrax.co.uk.

Post a thread in a forum on there called "MX Tech", should get the problem solved in no time .

I don't have the time to take a look through but there are a ton of posts on the best oil to use

If it's anything like the DR-Z, if the bike has been sitting a while you're supposed to use the dipstick on the engine as most of the oil drains down into it. I don't know if the YZ250F is the same but it's worth looking into.

If there's any doubt he should just do an oil and filter change and compare the amount drained with the amount going in. If the amount drained is significantly low, there is a leak or the engine is burning oil. When was the last time it was rebuilt?

normally the filler cap acts as a dipstick or just below theres a sight glass so you can see how much is in there.
