Hi,
I am thinking of getting the z490 aorus master with 10900k but was wondering if anyone can tell me, when an NVME drive is being used does the PCIe slot get reduced to x8?

So it has changed since the z170 with my 6700k, gpu operated at x16 and as soon as I put an NVME drive in max I could get was x8 for the graphics card. Do you have the same board and are you running an NVME drive

The gpu uses lanes from the cpu and the NVMe SSD will use lanes from the chipset. No I don't have this board, but if you google 'Z490 Chipset block diagram' you can see the way it is setup.

I have purchased this board and can confirm now that the GPU runs at x16 3.0 with an NVME drive running at full speed. Bought the i7 10700K as well due to big shortages of the i9 and had a really good deal with it. Very happy with the upgrade from a 6700K.

I may be in the market place for a new motherboard in the coming months, i have been looking at the z490 aorus Ultra it's in the same family as the master going to combind it with a i7 10700K, was wondering whats the best ram to use with it, looking for stable system, 16gb ram, nothing flashy no need for LED, was looking at corsair, not sure which to pick.
Any recommendations, oh not planning on over clocking system, want it stable.
