Z4M vs M3 vs M5

On that other video, think it was the Best Motoring, they had it listed as a hefty 1800kgs. Is that right?

Bit dissapointed with the Z4M Coupe, thought it would be on par with the m3, if not faster?

Absolutely love that song, brings back to days of my youth

I didn't think the M5 would be that much faster than on M3 on acceleration due to its weight.

I was expecting the Z4M to be as quick if not quicker than the M3, but guess not.

The M5 is indeed considerably quicker than both the other BMW's, its a shame I was not there, could have shown that M5 the true manner of pulling.

Watch the video further though and the Z4M is slightly faster than the M3, just the first race he gets off to a bad start.

Maybe the guys should realise if they put their windows up to lower the drag they might be a bit faster?

Interesting video, really impressed with the M5, but lets face it who wouldn't be, had a little spat with a 52 plate M3 on the way home from work, he wasn't impressed how quickly i caught him up i was in 3rd at about 45-50 and he booted it, much to my supprise he didn't pull away from me :confused:

I've got mixed views regarding the M3 as it is indeed a very fast car but I think for it to move along quickly the person driving needs to be in the right gear and giving it death. As they are a bit lacking on torque and rather high revving so I suppose if you caught him out and he was in the wrong gear due to his own over confidence then I would suspect you walked him or kept up. Afterall you have a very light car with plenty of torque for its weight and gearing.

I've come across M3's a few times now, one was like those guys travelling down dual carriage-way, he pulled alongside me and was like signalling he wanted to race. I was already in 4th so I obliged, literally pulled bus lengths on him.

My hardest race so far to date was against a Porsche 996 Turbo which was from about 50mph with me in 3rd, could have gone down to 2nd but I was lazy but anyway by warp speed I was slowly edging pass him and eventually was past but that was quite hard. When the corners came up surprisingly I pulled quite a bit ahead but I think thats just down to I was pushing in the twisty bits. Had some great fun with an RS4 too, was quick but not as quick as the 996 Turbo as the RS4 I pulled quite a bit on.

Hi there

Well I have no problems on the road, the 996 Turbo last night seemed to be struggling to keep up on the corners and the fact we were at warp speed would indicate he was trying, so consider an M5 is a hefty 200-300kg heavier than me I am sure the Mustang would do well.

Don't diss one until you have tried it, but fair enough most the suspension on mine is not standard.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, a car infront of him had just gone into the center (turn right) section of the road, he deffo put his foot down cause the exhausts gave off a nice roar after a few seconds, but he could have been in a higher gear than he wanted, the guy clearly wasn't impressed, after 10 seconds or so we had to slow down for another car and going into a 50mph limit, car infront was doing 40 so he overtook i waited a bit and then did the same, we then got stuck in traffic and he kept pulling away quickly or leaving space between him and the car infront and closing the gap up as quick as he could.

Made me smile anyways
