You could try uninstalling all windows updates then try again.

that sounds like it might take a while maybe find a standalone SP1 installation as that should do all previous updates too?

do you know if the silver arrow cpu cooler fits this board clearing the heatsink and ram?

It probably will but double check with overclockers first but also make sure it fits your case as well as its massive.

i have the HAF912 plus, it is pretty wide. might have to remove the sidepanel fan though.

i was looking at the bequiet beast, but apparently the silver arrow is the best for the money, so will aim for that. im stuck at 4.4GHz as the temps are going to mid-high 70s whilst prime testing

tried everything to get the windows updates to work, none did the last thing microsoft suggest is inserting the dvd and selecting upgrade, so giving that a go. is a tad annoying, but better than a fresh install i guess.

well it fixed the windows update problem, but has screwed up CCC, so fresh install it is

My noctua fits but it makes things fiddly to install
