Can some one prove me wrong, ok i had the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 to start with and 2x 6970's, found this was stable running eyefinity but i needed more fps in some games, my next upgrade was the Extreme7 with the nf200 chip so i could run trifire 3x 6970's but i have never been able to get most games to run smooth with 3x cards and eyefinity all i ever got was massive fps drops less than running on 2 cards, also lots of mouse to screen lag, so much you couldn't play the games..BF3 BC2 etc, anyway i had an idea to get a single 6990 and 6970 so i;m only useing 2 pcie lanes hoping this would fix it but no, it did the same! i have done so much testing with the 2 boards but just cant get it to run smooth with 3 cards, replaced all the main parts but nothing would do it drivers etc, Anyway my final idea was to try a p67 board, so i got a MSI GD-55 replaced this for the Extreme7 without any change in OS as it had the Asrock drivers still, just needed to install the MSI drivers it needed, so then i went to try the normal games with tri 6990/6970 and it bloody worked after NO JOKE 4 months of testing and i put a p67 chip board in and it's fixed????? So i think the z68 chip with its ability to use the onboard gpu must give the pcie lanes a problem.. no idea what but from what i have done im 99% sure. just for ref the tri and even quad fire would work fine on a single dispaly with z68 chip smooth etc.. Anyway it's fixed and im 1k lighter for trying all this but will just need to sell the z68 boards etc. :) on my mobile so it maybe hard to read lol

5750x1080?

What sort of frames you getting?

What you doing with your other 6970? Why don't you sell it and get some of the cash back. :) Best to sell it ASAP to get the best price.

Maybe it was just an Asrock problem. Rather than a Z68 issue.

Sounds like a nf200 (made by Nvidia) problem to me not a Z68 problem. I always was a bit sceptical about that chip being used in that way, I bet if you used Nvidia cards there would not have been a problem ;).

I agree it must be a NF200 problem, or even Asrock boards as they have a unique chip called PLX im not sure if this is on all the models.

Running BF3 at 5760x1200 Ultra settings and NoAA I get a steady 60-120fps on Tri, with just the 6990 I im getting 45-80, even with the 6990 on the Z68 extreme7 it just didn’t feel rite but does on the P67 also I don’t get a massive performac jump in BC2 on the p67 tri it will run all MAX 8xAA etc unlike before. at a steady 70fps but very smooth unlike before aswell :)
