As title got a few question for you guys.



Can you use more than 20gb partition so it will cache more files.

Will it work better with a fast ssd. Thinking of selling mine and getting a cheaper one.

Anyone had any issues with it.

The point of the SSD caching is to utilise the speed of the SSD for those daily applications and tasks. But the big thing is that the SSD is used in parallel to a normal hard drive (platter based mechanical hard drive) that contains your OS. You can use as much space as you like. If your OS is on the SSD then there is no point.
 
I believe you can use a cache partition of up to 64GB to cache more files. As for a faster SSD for caching - I believe the performance jump is pretty small, and the intel 20GB that it was designed for seems to hold up well.

That said, if you can afford a 60GB SSD or above (like this one), I would suggest running it as the primary drive with your OS and main applications on it - as you will get better performance than when using SSD caching in most situations.

ive got a intel 80gb not sure what model i know its the V2

the only speed i see from it is booting into windows which is not a big deal.

you need a massive ssd for games really or you would be forever installing and uninstalling games.

so if i can use 64 gb there no point in selling this for a smaller one really
 
I've just checked the pricing on the Intel 20GB SSD, and it weighs in at around £90.

Surely it would be a lot cheaper to buy a 64gb SSD and then run the OS straight off of that? You won't need any caching and performance would be better.

The other alternative is to buy a non-Intel , 32GB, SSD for about £45 and then run Smart Response using that one.
