Z68AP-D3 Ethernet/Network Problem. Please help!

Hi guys,

I recently built my PC with the following spec.

i5 2500k CPU, Z68AP-D3 Mobo, Radeon 6870 GPU, 550 OCZ PSU.

Everything went to plan, no problems. Installed window 7 64bit, again no problems.

Went to plug in the ethernet and it wasn't finding anything, been on manage devices etc and still no network options.

After trying to install the LAN drive required, which I thought would be my solution towards the end of installing it, it pops up this error.

"The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable"

After a lot of researching into this, it seems quite common however i've done the things that are recommended such as reset mobo by removing RAM and PSU for a while, but still no network adapter or the same error message.

Things i've done to try and fix this:

Reset CMOS by button and battery.
Removed RAM and PSU for an hour.
Made sure LAN is enabled in BIOS.

None of these solutions have worked

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Only thing I can suggest is perhaps try re-installing Windows again just in case this has coursed corruption.

Also is it possible to download a different driver or check the Gigabyte website for a different version.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried re-installing windows twice now and no luck.

Theres only one version and I got it from the Gigabyte site :(

What does Device Manager show under network adaptors ?
If it shows nothing, and you are 100% sure that the LAN adaptor is enabled in BIOS then your motherboard is faulty.

RMA it.

Did you say you had installed or tried to install the motherboard drivers? as I know you have to have the mobo drivers installed on the apd3 before the ethernet works correctly.

Edit: Just found this you could try;

So i fixed this issue on my system... by rolling back a windows update that updated the driver for my PCI upstream switch port under system devices.. just searched trhough all my devices in device manager and found the ones that were dated the time i did the update and rolled them back and this was the one that fixed it

Dont know if this helps at all.
