Hi guys, purchased a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 Intel Z68 from ocuk last sept and things went well for a few months until after xmas I started to experience the occasional start-up issue where the PC would start up then immediately shut down and then get stuck in a loop of restarting itself, this only happened once a week or so and I figured it was just an update or some such sorting itself out, aside from that it ran fine.

Last month the problem got much worse with the machine seemingly get stuck every other time it was turned on, spoke to a friend and we figured maybe a dodgy power supply as it was one of the oldest things in the rig, replaced that no joy.

Did some googling and have found several references to a 'boot loop' issue with this board but no one only really offering a solution.

Does anyone know of any solutions or updates?

Running the latest bios available.

Everything stock.

Just had the issue yesterday, solved it by clearing CMOS by putting screw driver on top of 2 pins in bottom right corner.

I would also advice removing "Sleep" option in windows, because I think thats when my PC went into loop, it was fine before that option was not used and is fine now when that option is disabled too.

Do you have any external usb devices (phones/flashdrives/flash memory/external hdd's) connected when you boot up?

Sorry for not replying to anyone sooner, miserable couple of days.

Have tried it with one stick of ram and removed the cpu and all the pins look spot on by eye, did the same.

As regards to USB devices it has played up on me with only a keyboard and mouse attached, both of which have been changed recently.

Starting to look like its just an annoying quirk of the motherboard.
