I am really surprised about the price for this. After reading all the stuff at the top i expected it to be a lot more but it's extremely well priced!! Nice looking board too.

But the problem is no matter how good the motherboard is...IvyBridge i5/i7 CPUs would turn into a micro-oven and temp becomes too high for comfort to use 24/7 when overclocked to 4.8GHz and beyond (and having better CPU cooler doesn't help much due to how the chip is trapping the heat inside itself)...the limiting factor of the CPU is really with the temp, rather then if a motherboard can push IvyBridge i5/i7 beyond 5GHz or not...

Hmm, should I switch out my 2500k and Maximus IV Extreme P67 for this and a i5 3570k?
I guess the question you should ask yourself is...are there actually any games that you play that your overclocked i5 2500K can't make full GPU usage of your graphic card(s)? :p

For me even on GW2, I'm more GPU limited (5850) than CPU limted (i5 2500K at 4.5GHz) during the dynamic events that will like 20 people plus mobs together at the same spot ;) But then again I'm only using standard 60Hz monitor...I don't know if you are using a 120Hz monitor or something like that.

I'm using a 120HZ monitor.
Some games are still CPU bound (DOWII I'm looking at you)
I love moar FPS though.
That, and getting PCI-E 3.0 for next generation could be a plus, that said, Haswell will probably take care of that.

I think you best wait for Haswell. As I said above...despite pretty much all Ivy i5 can overclock to 5GHZ and bench stable, the temp is simply too high for 24/7 usage regardless of what CPU cooling your got (due to how the chip turn itself into a micro-oven)...so in reality you are limited to may be 4.6GHz overclock max for day to day usage. As much as I would like to sing praise to IvyBridge...the temp limiting overclock issue I see as a serious flaw. Hope the same problem doesn't occur for the Haswell...

I bet your Maximus IV Extreme P67 will overclock better on lower volts than any Z68 or Z77 motherboard.

My Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H doesn't perform any better in terms of overclocks/voltages compared to when I used my MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3).

I like the MSI UEFI Bios, even a granny would be able to overclock it, it's so simple to use, I'm going to buy the MSI Z77 MPower.
