Z87 Motherboard Preview (Anandtech)

Loving the yellow and black colour scheme from MSI , Have been holding off building a new desktop for a month or so now to wait for haswell . Think i might go for a yellow and black theme for the new pc
 
^^^ What the ASUS ROG boards are top notch man!!!

All boards have overclocking options these days mate so I sure there are some mATX boards that are not as expensive as the top lines.
 
The black and gold on the asus range are starting to grow on me. Particularly like the look of the Z87 Pro/Deluxe. Nice gpu slot spacing for sli/xfire.

I gotta admit, im a fan of asus boards as my last four have been flawless. Id like an ROG board, but i suspect that one with the features id be looking for could be quite pricey.

What don't you like about gigabyte?

I have an asus z68 and admit its flawless,my gigabyte z77 tends to have more oc adjustments/fine tweaking and again its fine with the latest BIOS

Out of the two the gigabyte customer service/rma would swing it for me

Been burnt too many times (almost literally in some cases!). They really need to work more on their BIOS and prove to me that they don't need any of this dual BIOS nonsense just to cover their backs.

I've got a budget P35 Asus board which has been through the wars but has been rock solid for the past 6 years. I'm confident that I'll keep it running until 2020.
 
I agree on the z68/z77 bios's,they were very late in switching to uefi BIOS though,but asus bios's are very slick in comparison,gigabytes x58 bios's were great though,no issues at all

From what I've seen gigabyte z87 graphic BIOS has had a makeover
 
If only asus could implement a better rma service/location theyd be perfect. Once the first year is up with the retailer, should something go wrong you could be in for a long drawn out rma procedure.
 
Being a bit of an Asus fan I was kinda disappointed with the Gold look. ROG boards look like a better option purely from an aesthetic perspective.

Any black n green ones, to fit in with my Nvidia habit?
 
I actually like the look of the new black and gold ASUS motherboards - however, if the price is decent, I will probably go for the ROG Maximus VI Extreme.
