Z87X-UD3H error code help :S

hello, i have just built my first pc and installed windows, there has been a few codes displayed on the mobo however the latest one has been staying for some time, its the code A0. in the manual it describes it as IDE Initialiazation is started. i have no idea what this means, can anyone help ?

AO is normal

Means the operating system is now in control.

Nope, BIOS codes only.

My V Gene constantly displays '40'. Only every once in a while will it display 'AO'.

it also display A6 when im in the bios, any ideas ?

A6 is probably down to being in the BIOS and not fully cycles through the boot,I wouldn't worry

Thanks everyone, this is irrelevant to this thread but I'm also worried about the bend of my 7970 platinum, is there anything I can do to support it or is perfectly fine ?

My 7970 sags slightly,could support it with the cards power cables or tie it up with cable ties?

Droop on big heavy cards is normal (you have it screwed in right?), you can either support it with say a shoe lace or buy Scythe ninja wire or PowerColor PowerJack.

Bending like that is very common with heavy cards tbh. You could use a small peice of wood cut to size to prop it up. Or instead of the cards power cables coming beneath it, try routing them so they come in over the top of the card therefore pulling it up a bit.

Yes I have screwed it in with the thumbscrews

, I may sound like a noob but what are PowerColor and PowerJack ?

you can get cable ties anywhere,just regular ones,can join them up if they arn't long enough

and yh that's what I meant also with the cards power cables haha

I'm thinking about routed the pcie cables over the card which may support it a bit more, and I forgot to ask, do gigabyte mobos have a quick boot feature similar to MSI's ?
