zalaman cooler?

hi read in pcformat that the new zal. cooler with 120cm fan did a better job than most water cooled systems , and oc has em for about £40 , so are they the best coolers , review said , it cooled the cpu and mem and gfx card to !

um, which zalman cooler?

the 9500? Its not a 120mm fan in there, but it is a very nice looking, and pretty effective cooler. not as good as full watercooling, and there are several better other air coolers (scythe ninja/infinity, and tuniq tower) out there, but none look as cool.

There are better HSF designs out there, and that's pretty loud too @ 42dB.
As for the air "cooling down" the RAM and gfx card, the air pushed down onto these components won't be cool air. 9500/Ninja/Mine design is better in that air is drawn into the HSF from the front of the case (intake) then expelled near the exhaust fans.

Ah. Thats not a great cooler. Yes it will cool well, but many more recent coolers will cool better at lower noise. and I think the 9500, being a more recent cooler, which actually cool better.

They did something wrong then.

The Zalmans are very good coolers, but most water cooling systems will beat them.
