Im building an AMD AM2 system using the asus m2n32 deluxe motherboard and an am2 x2 4000+ cpu and was wandering if it is worth getting the new zalman cpu cooler?? or am i better rite now with just sticking with the reference heatsink and fan? I am planning to use the PC for gaming mainly and am hoping to overclock it. Thanks in advanced :D

Ive been eying up the new Zalman myself, looks ****hot. Itll be cooler with the Zal and probably a lot quieter. I thought it was aluminium at first but its copper with a chrome finnish, so itll be heavy, maybe not ideal if your moving the pc around a lot. Id say got for it if itll fit, would look nice and also keep your pc cooler and quieter.

its performance is exactly the same as the SKT939 version, just a different color. good cooler all the same though. got one here,...

My only nag with the zalman (well .. my own) is that its not so muh quiter then any other air cooler as it claims. The sound is different in that its no so much the rush of air through the blades that you hear, but the buzzing of the fan motor which is a little annoying. I was expecting a better performance when i replaced the rarther cheapo amd cooler that came with x2 3800, but its not bad. Idle temps are the same with only 6-7 degree load difference under the current UK hot weather.

Do any of you guys know if the artic cooling will be bringing out a cooler for am2 any time soon? or does the current freezer 64 pro fit on am2? Im really wanting to get one of these since its cheaper then the zalman and i think its quieter

Don't know release dates I'm afraid. However, if the current ones did fit AM2, I'm sure OcUK would have said so on the site.

Another recommendation for the Zalman. I have the origional CNPS9500 and it is superb. On quiet, it's inaudible and on high, you can hear it but it isn't too bad - compared to the fan of a X1800 or X1900 it would be great. It mainly depends on what the other components you have are, as to how loud it'll be.

i have the zalman fatal1ty cpu cooler for skt 939 amd x2 looks the ticket and great cooling. temps didnt go up when i upped voltage during oc'ing
