Yo,

I just bought myself the Zalman VF700 for my BFG 7800GTX OC and gotta say its a beaut. Simple to install and quiet as a mouse, perfect.

Well now that my graphics card is so quiet im now hearing my stock AMD X2 4400+ fan chogging away... so I want to make that a bit more quiet.

I'm looking at the new Zalman CNPS9500-CU and just want to ask people who have it with a Socket 939 CPU and ask if they had to remove their motherboard to install it?

I was originally looking at the CNPS7700-Cu but after watching the installation movie on zalman's website it would appear you have to remove the mobo to get behind it to mount a bracket behind the CPU socket... well thats what it looks like.

Looking at the Zalman CNPS9500-CU movie though, would seem you dont have too? is this the case? Or am I completely wrong?

If so can anyone recommend any good Socket 939 Coolers that DON'T require the removal of the mobo?

Thanking you!

Cos im lazy and can't be arsed is the simple answer. Just so much agro to remove it with all the parts on it, really dont fancy doing that.

I just looked at the Artic Freezer 64 though, dont a search on the forum and it seems popular... and says it installs without the use of tools :)

Although I did build my PC, I am lazy :) sorry

Sure have... It deffo between that and the Artic Cooler 64. Read a review on both and they opted for the Artic due to its price and the fact its lighter.

If I get the Zalman and have to remove the mobo, then I suppose I have to remove the mobo :)
