We currently have the lowest price in the UK on this cooler. Sporting a great copper flower design featuring a built in fan controller and provides excellent performance in cooling. To top the deal off we have also thrown in the Socket LGA1366 (Intel i7) and the Socket LGA1156 (Intel i5) brackets in for free.

Zalman CNPS9700-LED CPU Cooler with i7 and i5 Bracket (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1366) @ £17.99 inc VAT

To look at the cooler, you would think the CNPS9700-LED is exactly the same as the hugely successful CNPS9500-LED. But on closer inspection, you will soon notice that the cooler is about 20% bigger! Instead of using a 92mm fan like in the CNPS9500, the CNPS9700-LED has a huge 110mm fan! The larger size of the cooler gives both an increase in airflow (due to the fan), and an increase in surface area (due to the fins). In combination, this gives unbeatable cooling performance. The cooler is multi-socket compatible, and comes not only with a Fanmate2 fan speed controller, but also Zalman’s well-respected premium heatsink compound, ZM-STG1.

These things are more than capable of cooling an o/ced i7 processor, I have the black nVidia edition of this, and I used it on my i7 rig when I first built it, and it kept the processor at about 80c when I clocked it to 3.5GHz..

They are a steal at this price I must say, I got mine at the end of 2008 and I paid £55 for it back then!!!!

I know that Yewen here has this cooler sat on his CPU at home, he is using an i7 920 in a shuttle case with a GTX 285. So cooling performance is good.

My only gripe with the one I have is the fan is extremely noisy at full speed, I first had it installed on an old AMD rig which didn't have a PWM fan header (the NT version I have uses a PWM fan instead of a fanmate) so the fan would spin flat out constantly, and it sounded like my case was going to take off!!

When I used it in my i7 rig it was fine, as it very rarely span flat out, so most of the time it was farely quiet.

Same!

It is not in my shuttle mate, is currently on a shelf due to being too big to fit in the shuttle.

Used to use it on my old 775 rig and before that on my AMD rig. Cracking for £35-40 and at this price its great performance for very little.

i have 2 of them one black with green led and copper one with blue. great coolers tbh specially at that price  payed 40 ~50 £ for them. im running mine at moment q9650 @ 4 ghz its great if u have them with fan speed control.

they get noisy when u push them more then 2200 rpm at 2000 they pretty quiet.

Right I have also added the i5 bracket for free to the bundle now. So this now supports all socket types.

Looks good, and a great price.
Seeing as it has socket clips supports for 1156 and 1366, will it need somethng similar for AM3?
(Sorry for what is presumably a stupid question :( )

!!!
Damn not sure about you guys but I remember paying for this thing few yrs ago 50quid !
It was top end back then, very good cooler although it's pain to fit and it's massive.

For this price you can't beat it tbh.

I purchased this a couple of months ago which was also advertised with the bracket thats being show in the picture because I wanted this screw design instead of the push pins ...but was a bit pished off when I got it cos I didn't get this screw design I got some Clip Support method which was a bit poor.

Ace modder... is it possible you could sort me out with this bracket please because I only purchased this product because of wanting this design.

I'm sure you can check to see if I purchased this a couple of months ago.

Wow, I have one on these in my current PC (it's really good) and when I got it I payed like 35~ for mine, good deal :).

You might want to try contacting Zalman. Computer parts manufacturers usually sell spares for cheap.

I did m8 twice ...about a week after purchasing this but never got a reply.

The screw kit I want is actually for the 775 socket, this picture is showing the wrong fitting type which I actually received.

This is the one I received (the clip with the red arrow goes over the cooler but it moves about too much). I also received this kit without any thermal grease and none was on the bottom of the cooler like usual.

It's the same fitting kit that came with my 9500 apart from you don't get a jar of grease but a tiny tube. Zalman do not pre-apply grease. The clip you are pointing to is for the AMD fitting. The smaller one is for socket 775 and you screw it down onto the black frame with a screw at either end. my 9500 fit's nice and snug using it.

I do apologise I took so long to reply but I had to wait till I got to the gf/s house...seeing as the pc the cooler is installed is at hers.

Another thing it was the 9500A I purchased.

Like I said the clip I received was the one in that picture above that was the only clip I got inside the box.

I also never received any kind of thermal grease

Here is a scan of the manual (as you can see the same clip in the picture above)

I'm still getting decent temps 17/21 max but the cooler isn't sturdy enough with this clip.
