Zalman CNPS9700 LED

Looked at it too. Looks like it will give around an extra 35% cooling ie cfm. [(110^2)/(92^2)].

Looks interesting, though seems on the dear side for an air cooler. Personally I am still umming and ahing over the Titan Amanda or the Sycthe Ninja (lightweight).

its not just a bigger fan, the entire heatsink is bigger, and look at the weight difference between the 9500 and the 9700, its deffo a heavier heatsink and bigger one too.
i dont think anyone is that stupid to not relise that m8, ofcourse if there is a bigger fan there is going to be a bigger heatsink as we all know the 9500 had no space around the edges of the fan so the heatsink had to have been made bigger to acomaodate the extra 18mm added onto the fan

and expensive. for 45 quid it better be the best that air cooling has to offer otherwise people will just stick to the ninja or the tuniq tower.

Old cooler was Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 AMD Aero Flower.

I have FX-62 running at 3.0GHZ.

9500 idled at 39/40c at full rpm of 2600. System temp is 34c

9700 idles at 38/39c at lowest rpm 1400. System temp is 34c

Where this cooler really comes into it's own is the load temperatures.

My 9500 full load never went above 56c.
The 9700 I have in now never gets above 50c. And that is with the fan at only 2000rpm, the fans max is 2800.

I ran the fan at it's max 2800rpm constant and although it is noisier my cpu idled at 34c and my system temp went down to 32c.

These temps are obviously unique to my bedrooms ambient temp, a cooler room would produce lower temps.

i have a project in mine now, ill keep you all updated as soon my mine comes

my old cooler is a 9500 LED and thats coming of and going on to a...........

Graphics card you say? Or my pentium D ;)

Watch the weight though as its almost double the 9500s.

The 9500 keeps my X6800 very cool & quiet so no point in getting something almost twice the weight unless your doing some serious air ocing.

lol why u lot scared of weight for?? i use a thermaltake big typhoon and it weighs more than this new zalman cooler. once it bolted down onto the cpu its not going anywhere.

if you moutn the cooler correctly then your fine reguarding weight.

Ill be making a bracket to support the gfx card but only if needed

I have one of these coolers and they are massive!!! Big improvement on smaller version. Ball ache to fit without removable motherboard tray.

Any questions i will answer no worries.

How is it with regards to noise? I'm pretty happy with the performance of my 9500 but the fan on full is too loud, can I expect the 9700 to cool better AND be quieter?
