Hi Lee
Just want to add something to your review instead of making a new one, as this thread has been the most influential factor (OcUK's pricing as well) that finally convinced me to invest on the cooler rather than sell my Standard Zotac GTX 480.
Here's my "Normal" temp when running heaven on stock clock.
Fans on this settings sounds like a hoover.
Here's with the Zalman Cooler with fans connected to the mobo header and fanmate set at 1/3. Fans are barely audible against the Antec 1200 case fans which are all set to low.
That's 16 degrees difference on load temps and minus the "hoover" like sound of the fans which encouraged me to flash the Zotac Amp edition bios and guess what? card temp with the flashed bios merely went 2 degrees higher under the same fan settings.
and here's something I could'nt do with the stock cooler due to heat and sound.
When gaming, it barely touches 60 - 61 degrees and way a lot better compared to my XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 XXX and my old Asus ENGTX 285 which can get up to 85 degrees when gaming.
There's only one problem with Asus Rampage II users who are also using the extreme X-Fi sound card. The Zalman cooler locking screw impedes the installation of the GPU on the first PCI-E lane with the sound card installed.
Other than that, i'm pretty happy with the results i'm getting from this cooler. Now my 580 savings can go elsewhere.
