Just got done installing this cooler on my gtx 570.

The thermal paste included was very thick and impossible to spread.. Ithought it might be out of date or something but clearly it works fine.

Before temps -

idle 34-45 depending on what I'm doing
heaven - auto fan 83 degrees, max fan, 61.

Zalman Vf3000f

Idle - 24 - 26
heaven - 47 on lowest fan speed.

Have a 480,570,580? Buy this cooler :D

Shame that you don't have a fan mount for side-panel...otherwise with a fan there as exhaust next to the card it would drop the temp even further. But I guess it is low enough as it is already :p

Yep. I wasn't expecting this much difference in temps. I thought idle would be the same and maybe 10 degrees off load. But 35 degrees off load... and silent too.. I was in shock :D

Currently idling at 22, a massive 1 degree over ambient.

I had one off these on 470 then bought a zotac AMP! 480 which had a built in fan contoller of the pcb so you could change the speed via after burner.

And was all black which looked 100x better lol :D

Sorry to derail the thread, but is it worth lapping the GPU like you would a CPU?

Or is that too dangerous as you can't actually take out the GPU from the board to lap?

Not many people would recommend lapping a gpu as like you said its not removable. It is possible though but only if its something you want to do just for the sake of doing it, not worth it for better temps due to risk involved.

Dont bother...its useless and noisey..i have one..lasted about 5 mins before i took it out...install a side mount for a exhaust fan on that nice window...thats if you need it.
I said 'something like that', not specifically that product. There are better ones out there...like the Antec Super Cyclone.

And if you haven't noticed, his case doesn't have a mount for the side-panel.

I had one of these. The dude is right, they're pretty much the best thing since sliced bread if you have a card that doubles up as a leaf blower.
Only thing I didn't like was Zalman only did it in green, which distracts if you have a specific colour scheme in your case.
