I have just received mine and installed it on my X1900XTX.

I just wanted to say what a fantastic piece of kit. Installation is a breeze.

From a manufacturing perspective its a well engineered product that greatly out performs the stock cooler in both cooling and noise departments.

My temps are now 37C idle and 62C during 3Dmark05.(Fan at max).
Stock they were 42C idle and 78C during 3Dmark05.

Both figures are with the core at 680 and ram at 800.

For info I used AS5 on the core.

Worthy of mention is that the fan needs to be powered from the motherboard and not the card. I also had to use the Fanmate2 controller as all of my available channels on the fan controller are being used.

I am well pleased with my latest purchase.

Nice! for comparison i have the Accelero X2 which has taken my overclocked 685/794 Sapphire X1900XTX from 48 idle, 90 load to 41 idle, and 73 load using the supplied thermal pads, so i guess AS5 would have shaved a couple of degrees of these. And of course the thing is very very quiet. This was with the fan at 100% as its that quiet you won`t notice!. Looks like both the Accelero and Z900 are doing sterling jobs.

I have the Arctic Cooling X2 as-well on my XTX and although I didn't have any idle stats to compare, it is significantly quieter and keeps my card nice and cool.

How does the cooler rate in noise terms? I mean its obviously quieter, but is the difference much more than the stock cooler? I ask because if i bought, it would be in an effort to reduce noise more than cooling. :)

My god, CCC reports core at 85 'c during FEAR! I thought the standard cooler will do the job  so anyone with a X1900XT show difference before/after? The case has enough cooling. I'll also lose the exhaust feature of the ATI card.

Sweet, didn't realise these were in stock already... Might have to buy one to go with my x1900 when I order it in the next couple weeks:)

CPU temp has remained the same, my case temp has gone up 1C. Although I do have 3 panflow 120s and a Stealth shifting plenty of air in my case.

Noise is now quiet, the fan is comparable with the stealth fan in both tone and level of sound.

Its an awsome cooler. Don't hesitate to purchase until a cooler that expels the warm air outside of the case is produced.

can you check the idle / load temps (with fan on low setings)

thanks.

Either mine is somehow defective or the temp monitor on the card is borked,

i'm getting 95C+ load on a X1900XTX with a VF900-CU... happy happy joy joy.... stock coolers about to go back on.. :o

Seems like a good cooler. Very quick to install. I didn't use the fanmate2 controller, I just put it on a voltage reducing cable (either 5 or 7v, not sure), but it is nice and quiet.

Mine works fine @ stock speeds, with my X1800 @ stock i was getting around 58* idle and around 75-78 under load

Now with the zalman im getting around 45-46 idle and around 72 load

Trouble is if i overclock or up the voltages it cant seem to handle it. I had my xt at specs in my sig with the stock cooler....But if i try that the temps go way high very fast and i start getting artifacts etc.....

Anyone got any ideas? Like i say seems ok at stock....But cannot handle any mroe volts or oc'ing like the stock could?

Should i try reseating it? I used AS5 and put a nice thin layer over the GPU....Im a little annoyed as the first results at stock speeds looked great!!

May have to go back to the stock HSF!

Anyone else got this running on an X1800XT oc'd?

Thats the problem i'm having, at stock its fine, but when you overclock and apply more volts it just can't cope which is a real shame.. :(

I have my XTX running at 680 core and 800 on the ram.
I have not changed any voltages. Will your card not do the same at stock voltages?

Is you card an XTX or flashed XT?

Could the voltage increase be the source of your temp issues?

sounds like a bad contact matey. If the temps rise really quickly when load is applied, thats the sign of poor contact! Maybe too much thermal paste?

take it off again and remount it
