Zelda games....

I tried to play Link To The Past a while back, but couldn't get into it - I kept getting stuck without a clue what I was doing.

I love Link's Awakening, though. That game is awesome. I don't know how many times I've completed it. I managed it once without dying and got the special ending.

I like Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask and the Wind Waker is okay, i just didn't like the feel of it but i did like the graphics, and i haven't completed Twilight Princess and i've had it for like 2 years.

You should start with A Link to the Past on the snes, incredible game! I would also say its a bit harder than the newer zeldas, takes a lot more thought to solve puzzles etc, but its such a comprehensively good game with an awesome classic soundtrack.

After playing that you will want to play ocarina of time on n64, most definitely.

But then dont skip to the gamecube games after that! Dont miss out Majora's Mask! This game is just as good if not better than ocarina.

It can be pretty brutal, especially compared to the latest games where you get spoon fed solutions for a lot of puzzles.

Playing LttP again recently, I can't imagine how I'd have found some items the first time round, and I'd have been stumped had I not played it before. Too much spare time and not a lot of games I'll bet. :p

I thought that, but then I played super metroid for the first time ever recently, and there's a lot of hidden stuff in that game that I found without much hassle at all. I can't explain how, but I think it's designed very subtly to make you notice if you're looking hard enough.

Although things like the 4th bottle in LttP, I wonder if I'd have worked that out.

Im tempted to try some zelda games ive played the following:

Zelda on the nes, the one on the gold cartridge
Zelda Wind Waker got near the end then didnt finish it

Im tempted to try the link to a past, and then later on get a 3ds and get OOT.

I only recently realised after playing the game again that all those years ago when I first played it I missed the last sword you can get! So I found it pretty tough the first time round.

Let's see - what Zelda games do I own?
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • The Adventure of Link
  • Ocarina of Time + Master Quest
  • Link's Awakening DX
  • Majora's Mask
  • Oracle of Seasons
  • Oracle of Ages
  • A Link to the Past & Four Swords
  • The Wind Waker
  • Ocarina of Time: Master Quest
  • Four Swords Adventures
  • The Minish Cap
  • Twilight Princess
  • Phantom Hourglass
  • Spirit Tracks

Holy hell - that's all of them! Ok, I confess - none of them are NES/SNES originals. The early ones are all GBA ports (well, LttP obviously) and the wonderful GCN Collector's Edition. I've loved each and every one of them - except #2 (The Adventures of Link) which, as people rightly say, is pants. Just finished OoT yet again with my 7 year old son, now we're working on #1 - which is damn hard! I seriously need to find time to finish MM one of these days - the whole time issue frustrated me too much on my first play through.

You actually start to like the time issue, it becomes a new aspect of the gameplay and when you start using the the restart to your advantage its really rewarding. Honestly after I completed MM I just felt "wow what a game" especially since the ending is so epic!

Also you dont seem to have any of the CDi zelda games but thats okay as they shouldnt really count, they were beyond bad!
