According to the following post, they used "Alfa 9dBi WiFi Booster SMA OMNI-Directional High-Gain Screw-On Swivel Antenna" which appear to be available on amazon UK if you do a search using this term.

Don't they need to be suitable for 5GHz band?

decided to go with the n66u with nee replacement antennas - will see how that works out. The replacement antennas are absurd they're 34cm long lol

Just to add that although someone said earlier in this thread about avoiding ASUS DSL-ACxxx devices, mine is working fine since they added a setting called 'ESNP' which I set to 'stable'. I'm waiting for one more DLM change to occur to restore fastpath.

Moving one of our businesses (in Worcs) away from zen due to their pish poor support. The Adsl line went down to 0.5mbs down and 0.04mbs up. The did absolutely nothing to help, our phone service provider (rainbow tele, based here in NI) actually got it sorted for us so are shifting to them.

surprisingly...it does seem to have improved the signal by quite a bit.

I put the router in the loft without any antennas attached and took the laptop down to the ground floor. Signal was 3 bars (quite impressive without any antennas tbh)

Stuck the antennas on, went back downstairs...stable 5 bars

bought each antenna for £2.09 from fleabay plus £1.99 next day delivery so seems money well spent thanks to your advice!
