OK I realise this is a long shot, but have any of you got Zero Hour working where one of the PCs is XP and the other Vista over a LAN match?

At present it works for about 10 minutes then does the dreaded mismatch!

Cheers

try hamachi, you can use it without being online. It helped us during a recent home lan.

Problem is the game is so badly coded it end up mismatching anyway when you over do the units

What exactly is Hamachi? A google says it's a VPN thing but I'd have no clue whatsoever on how to set it up or why you would use a VPN to do a lan game anyway?

VPN= virtual private network?

I used to play zero hour over lan [2pcs- both XP] but always ran into problems as the number of units increased and sometimes had CTD's mid-game.

When it did work though, was fantastic teaming up against harder and harder computer ai.

Dont play it much now (brother can't run CnC3, lol)

Hamachi lets you create a lan over the internet, so you can play lan games via hamachi servers. You need to install it on both pcs and create a network. Very handy app for online gaming

We used it once with a router unplugged from the internet and it seemed to help detection and connection of C&C games, basically using it as a lan lobby
