Zero intake fans

Hey guys.

I have a GPU only loop, and just upgraded from a 360 to 360+200.

I got a good drop in gpu temps but a big increase in CPU as the new rad was blowing hot air into the CPU air cooler. I have turned young the fan on the new rad so now all fans are exhaust.

This has sorted the warm CPU problem but GPU temps are not as good as they were.

Any ideas?

Meh, I've always been happy with my CPU cooler and that is just going to add 150w of heat to the loop.

This, your loop is overkill on the rads and won't sniff at the CPU joining the party.

You really think a thin 360 and a 200 is overkill for 500w of graphics cards?

I have a 140 and a 360, I'm running CPU + GPU, still have room in temps to run another GPU if I really wanted.

I think you are a bit misled if you think you need 360+200 just for a GPU, you can run CPU + 2 GPU's off that.

im gonna run 2 7970's (both heavily overclocked) and a 2500k at 4.7 on 2 240 rads

Not 1 GFX, 2x heavily overclocked GFX. Which produces much more heat than 1 card and a CPU.

what are the temps with the gpus now? bet they are at around 55 or so

your cpu wont make the blindest bit of difference to the temps. you will see like 5c max

Gpu temps are around 50. But the water is at about 38, which means CPU will be at about 60. That's not even an improvement from my air cooler.

so why are you asking what to do to improve your temps?

sell the D-14 and buy a block plus a couple of fittings and a bit of tubing if needed and you will be maybe £30 at most worst off.

Using a HWL GT Stealth 560 Rad[32mm thick] low 900rpm fans at ambient of 23'c, CPU i7 920:4.2ghz CPU cores never go over 60'c / GPU Toxic6950>6970 - 950/1350 - 50.

A 2500k isn't going to throw that much heat into the loop, you have enough radiator room for it - do it

put all your fans on exhaust so that hot air is going outside the case, always anyway

You don't say what kind of case you have but there is nothing wrong with both rads as exhaust.
As long as the air isn't being recycled outside your case, and you have some vents to let fresh air in (ideally opposite the rads)

And air cooled cpu and watercooled GPU's always made better sence to me
As graphic cards don't have the room for large tower heatsinks.
but it's not the 'normal' way to do it - so expect some flack

Add the CPU to the loop and switch the fans back around, intake the air from the front rather than exhausting it should help a tad.
