Zippo lighters

you can flip zippos open in one hand with just your fingers

holds at the top and bottom with thumb at the bottom and your first two fingers on top, so your looking at it sideways not staright on and then just squeeze your fingers together and the top flips open and your holding still

another one is flick the lid open with your finger and then click your fingers right next to the roller and it lights
 
I've got four now.. an engraved chrome one my sister bought me, a 'harvest gold', a brushed brass 1941 shape one, and a chrome one with black and white mother of pearl on it :cool:

They don't cost much to 'run' in lighter fuel and flints, the flints are a couple of quid for a packet of five or so and they're quite long, and fuel doesn't last for ages, but as said, it's only a couple of quid for a tin which lasts a fair old while.
 
I got 2 brass B&H ones... One I use and the other is still in the box. Can't fault it - people tend to "accidentally" pocket it though.
 
Zippos are great... although the el cheapo lighter fuel does leave your fags tasting a bit nasty (even nastier than fags normally taste).

Used to be able to do a few different tricks, including the one-handed opening/lighting/closing and also the click-yer-fingers one. Not sure where my Zippo is now though... we've moved house plenty of times since I last saw it, so it's probably in a box in the loft :(
 
I used to know a lad who didn't smoke but used to carry a zippo around in the hope of lighting women's fags with it. Thought he'd look cool. Beyond Sad.

That goes for anybody who owns one but hates smoking.

I prefer a push-button Dunhill myself.
 
i've got few - a couple of chrome ones, an old silver plated one where the silver has come off ans so it actually looks brass now, and a titanium one - i use that one all the time.

It's just for the name, and the fact they look good! Lighters don't just have to be used for fags! Candles, blow torches, Molotov cocktails, petrol!

funny thing, the standard brass case has tarnished, but the Enamel-fillgree slab on the front is 24ct gold, so it hasn't :D
