Having lots of fun playing Zombie Panic: Source at the moment. It's a free mod for Half-Life 2 and the latest build is really stable (client side at least). Not that fussed about Left 4 Dead now that I've found this!

Official Website

You will need to run the installer and let it install to the default steam directory... you should NOT have to change this unless you changed the default install path when you installed steam originally. It may automatically detect your steam installation but I’m not sure.

Also required are the Source SDK and SDK Base kits, downloaded via steam. I believe they can be found under “Tools” within the steam client itself.

Once you have completed the above steps, the game should appear as a third-party mod in your games list. If not, restart the steam client.

It’s well worth the download. There are several youtube videos available that demonstrate the gameplay pretty well, for those who may be hesitant. To be honest, it’s a free download, so what have you got to loose? Unless you aren’t on unlimited bandwidth of course ;)

I have started to play this game quite often, in between TF2, so feel free to add me on steam. ID is illuminatica (s/<ull). Have fun!

I play Zombie Mod on CS:S, it's server side so all you do is join a ZM server, download the map and files needed for the game, and away you go!

im currently at my parents, i dont assume they'll appreciate me downloading almost 800mb of their 2gb limit lol. But im doing it anyway lol, its bloody slow though, only getting 80kbsec from filefront :(

didnt really like zombie mod for cs:s was just abit pants to be honest.

i saw this when it first came out, apparently it was extremely buggy and games kept crashing so i avoided it then. Might give it a try now if its more stable and people are playing it, used to love playing it in HL1

Apparently they've addressed quite a few bugs in the latest release. I can't say I'm really fond of it though, I want to be able to do this like lock and barracade doors properly and it's just not possible.

Saying that I might give it another go.

Try it :)

A few of the servers I have joined were frustrating due to survivors barricading themselves indefinitely in a small corner of the map. I have managed to use objects to my advantage so far but never last long by myself :p It's fun to try though. Finding a server where people actually work together hasn't been too difficult. But maybe I have just been lucky so far :)

When you think about it, a mods success depends on people willing to play it properly. And from what I have experienced, many players get so involved it's like listening to a zombie movie in the background.

It is also very atmospheric, even with the occasional "OMFGZOMBQ" through the headset :)

It is really bad imho.... the SShots looked cool so i downloaded it a good few months back but it just didnt really draw me in. It felt repetitive... no difference in the way the game is played.

Roll on LEft 4 Dead!
