Zoom goes into liquidation

Bah, that means the £500 worth of vouchers we got as compensation from our last flight grom them are now worthless. Although its pretty daunting flying with a company that almost killed you a few times anyway... they might seem cosy and nice, but you see how the react when theres a problem.....nothing happens at all.

I'm off to Canada in a couple of weeks, but with Air Canada. I only chose Air Canada because I have to go to San Francisco as well and they had the most convenient flights at a reasonable cost.

Zoom was normally my first choice for flights to Canada as I always had good service from them.

Thomas Cook are cack mate. Make sure all your luggage is well under 20kg. They charge £10 for every kg over 20 I believe. Oh, and bring something to eat because their meals are turgid.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take Thomas Cook's cackness over Zoom's no-flight though. :)

My biggest worry is my flight will now be jam packed with grumpy former Zoom customers.

Oh yes I know all about that :( 32kg a few years ago and one BIG charge! Not to mention they demanded Canadian Currency after I just exchanged it to British Pounds the day before.

Canadian Affair must be the only real cheap one left? (They use Thomas Cook planes).

LOL my sisters flew back the day before yesterday.... on Zoom Air,

sadly though my parents who opted for a longer holiday out in the States, would have also been flying Zoom Air on tuesday, looks like they'll be in for a longer holiday now ;)

I'm in Vancouver now. Have been here for 8 months and was supposed to be going home on Sep 14th

My girlfriend was going home to be there for the birth of her fist nephew and now had to spend $1600 on a new flight

Good thing is....we now know where these guys live in Scotland :)

We paid using debit card and will have to try get it back from the bank but the insurance company wont cover it.

If we had been drunk and missed the flight then we could get 500 pounds towards a new one. The company goes bust and we get nothing.

Sucks!

Erm, don't all airlines?

i think the BA limit is about 40KG per bag or something.
tbh, i've flown with them a load of times with bags of various weights above 20 and they've nenevr cared. they also don't care that i regularly have 3 or more peices of hand-luggage :)
