Right, i'm thinking of getting my girlfriend a "days" zorbing but i'm not sure where exactly they are. Has anyone been through buyagift and if so where is the Hertfordshire one based?

Other preferable locations for doing it would be around Plymouth or Bristol, neither of which are choices on there, are there any zorbing locations in those areas?

Thanks

Had to look that up...

The activity of sphering, zorbing or globe-riding is the recreational practice of humans rolling downhill in a sphere, generally made of transparent plastic. Sphereing is generally performed on a gentle slope, but can also be done on a level surface, as well as on water, permitting more rider control. In the absence of hills, at least one vendor has begun constructing metal ramps.

Sure your girlfriend wants this 'present'? :]

Sounds like an awesome idea for a present :) Not sure mine would go for it but it's definitely more creative than the usual chocolates/flowers/jewellery.

I came up with it whilst chatting to a mutual friend, and we both think she will love it, she wants to go skydiving, but I cant afford that.:o:p And yeah, I hate all the typical presents that get banded around, although I may buy her some chocolates they will be a secondary gift.:)

as well as on water,

How does that work then? Surely if you had holes in it for the air the water would get it? or if you didn't you'd slowly suffocate? Unless the holes are on the side and you can't tip the sphere that way, but that doesn't seem as fun.

STICK TO THE LIST MAN, ALWAYS STICK TO THE LIST!

Seriously, though, sounds like a good idea! I'd like to have a bash at it as well. Not sure my girlfriend would go for it :(

i did this in NZ and it was ridiculously good fun

because i'm a fat **** i wasn't strapped in, but rather sliding around in water. i couldn't stop laughing all the way down the hill, which wasn't just a straight line.

can't imagine it being all that great if you're just bombing down a hill without any corners if you're not strapped in

By that logic a blow up ring would sink!:p (it would just float on the water)

That was also something I was wondering, would the water one or the strapped in one be better?

It's a well known fact that Chicken Zorba was accidentally invented by a Greek man trying to repair the inside of a huge goldfish bowl on a hill above a poultry farm.

I bought my girlfriend Harness Sphereing for Valentines Day and we went down to the Cotswolds on Monday to do it.

Was very fun, nothing like i expected. We were harnessed inside the ball facing each other. Unfortunately my girlfriends leg strap came undone and she kicked me in the eye :(. Domestic violence, pft.

Haha. I mean oh dear, that's terrible. :D Still looking on the bright side at least she didn't kick you in the family jewels, being strapped in you couldn't even have curled up in the foetal position if she had.

Zorbing looks like great fun but I'm not sure about all this "gentle slope" business, big steep slope leading to a loch sounds like a much better plan.

They had one setup outside the Birmingham Bullring at the weekend when it finally reopened. It was on rollers so it didn't go anywhere, it looked a lot of fun.

Yeah, a gentle slope would just be a bit boring, which is partly why I want to see if anyone has been to the hertfordshire based one.:)
