Zotac 1080 Amp Extreme price evolution

I think it would be fun to keep an eye on this.

So, on June 24-th, I pre-ordered this card and it was 619.99.
A few hours later the card went up £30.
Today we can see a price of £679.99.

I have to say the price does not look like it's going to stay put or even go down any time soon.

Why do I say this?
Well, I had a look at a certain US based website and they list this card at $729.99, of course out of stock. Translate that to £ and you get £554, then chuck a 20% VAT on it and you get £664.

It would be interesting to see where the price goes next.

Where the price goes next? Up, up and away. At least until they sort out their stock. It's crazy how high the demand has been, I guess people have been starving for more high end gear.

Mine has just been shipped (from a rival UK site I might add). Bought when it was 619.

that would be a huge jump seeing as they are £449.99 now - looking at same card just in the 1070 flavor.

The 1070 Gaming X that I bought a week ago is now £50 more expensive. It's only going to get worse if the pound keeps falling. Under 1.3 now...

as it stands the cheapest we've seen a 1080 on here is £575, and we've already got 1070s reaching £500

Don't buy it, simple really but people don't seem to be able to grasp this very basic concept
