Zotac Geforce 9300 ITX board + E7400 chip @ 3.33Ghz

how did you fit a 4870 into a sg05 as i would love to do something similar to that but silverstone say you can only fit 4850 in with a single slot cooler?

There's room for a dual slot cooler, it's card length that's the issue. The 4870 fits in, but because the 2 6pin power leads are on the end of the card it makes it too long.

To fit it in you need to completely empty the case, not even a mobo installed. You drop the 4870 in diagonally and hook up the 2 cables, then turn it so it is in lengthways, the cables will be squashed right up against the front inside of the case.

You can then install your mobo (lifting the card out of the way while you do this) and drop the 4870 into it as per a usually install - continue to build you pc as you normally would.

It's a bit of a hassle, but the payoff is a tiny system with enough grunt to hold it's own against many full sized gaming machines.

What PSU are you running that with Geckovich? The 300W one that came in the Sugo, or something else? Would have thought that 300W would struggle slightly with a 4870...

My Sugo SG03 is looking very large after viewing these pics. Should hopefully be more options when I decide to build a replacement.

The 300w one :)

I was dubious at first but a review I read had a 4870 and phenom 1 quad core running off of it with no issues.

I think the TDP of the 45nm core2's is about half that of the older phenoms too, that helps.

The PSU is great, really can't fault it, even after a few hours gaming or heavy use the fan still doesn't spin up and it remains cool to the touch.

I actually find myself ignoring my more 'beastly' desktop in favour of the ITX build nowadays, I really cant notice the drop in performance (except in crysis or GTA4) and everything seems so much more civilised (if that makes sense to you).

Actually I fit mine in without removing anything, only the PSU Support Bracket and the Optical/HDD Bay then you just pop the card in back first then with a bit of patience and some slight force you will sit it in there, hardest part is when the PSU cables are plugged in, i.e before putting the front part all the way down.. but just use a bit of force and try to pull the stretch the chasis toget it in there..

Once it is in good luck removing it, can't get to the Bios reset if you do a bad overlock..

What's the "cooler of choice" with this board?

I understand a lot won't fit because of the amount of traffic around the CPU socket.

Craziness! Looks awesome though. Tempted to build myself a living room gaming machine with a passive 4670, and e5200 and the SG06...hmmm.

Well it take me 5 minutes to install a 4870 in the sg05, not bad, 5 seconds to get card in case, rest of time to connect psu cables and force them in..

If your going 4870, then the Sapphire 4870 1GB with silent cooler is the one to go for,not one crash, tried a gainward 4870gs, gave me reboots and blue screens, and stuttering while gaming,I think it draws too much power

Anyone know of someone whos got a HD4870 and Q6600 in the SG05? Been wondering about doing it for a while. Need to find a board, but will spend extra money if I need to. Its the PSU I'm worried about. Ideally, it would have 3 sata ports to handle 1 optical, 2 hdd, but really just want the Q6600 to work.
