Ahoy,

I got a Windows 7 Phone recently (coming from an iPhone 4 and iTunes) and had to install the Zune software, which I'd heard of, but never used.

I'll be honest, I'm VERY impressed with it, it beats iTunes hands down and just looks and operates brilliantly.

Certainly worth a look for those of you using iTunes or normal Windows Media Player/Winamp!

Also, Windows Phone 7 is superb, a welcome change in the phone market ;)

Hadn't noticed much about it in this forum so I thought I'd draw folks attention to it as it is quite something and seems to work flawlessly.
 
I was actually thinking of getting a Windows 7 Phone so I downloaded Zune recently just to try it out, and yeah, it is a fantastic music player.

Love the interface, its all very slick and well polished. Performance is much better than iTunes too.

Just such a shame I'm tied to iTunes for syncing my iPhone and for streaming music to Airports :(
 
I too recently discovered the Zune player and really love the simple and slick interface. My only complaint is it doesnt support .cue files.
 
Zune is fantastic software and a very good player. It's a real shame we've not had the hardware over here until WP7.
 
I've been using Zune software for a few years now (owned an original Zune and now a Zune HD). Always worked a treat and is very simple to use. I just love the clean interface, I purchased and iPhone 4 a few months and I now remember how much I dislike itunes.

I don't use the players much as I'm often using winamp to listen to web-radio streams which I'm at the PC. But the Zune experience is much more enjoyable when adding podcasts etc to my Zune HD :D

I think it looks a lot better, it detects album art and song names far better and the sync options to Windows Phone are better than the equivalent for iPhone.

Lots of other little things too, give it a try.
 
I installed it and had a quick play. First impressions are that it looks very sleek and stylish, not something you'd exspect from Microsoft.
 
but is it worth 50% cpu usage? and thats only on MP3!

I dont know about you but I listen to music and Game/Surf do stuff and to me 50% is a little over the top for a music player.
 
On the first run of Zune on my machine, it appeared to use 50% of the CPU at times just playing back an mp3. It's now settled down to about 8-10% if the display settings are set to premium.

Given that's far too much for an mp3 player to be using, I've turned the graphics down one notch and now get a far more acceptable level of cpu usage (1% or there about).

All of this is on an overclocked e2140.
