Zune

Just to chime in:

I've been using Zune for a couple of years. Up until the last release or two its been complete pants of a software package. Zune, Win 7 and hopefully IE9 just go to show that if MS put their minds to something it comes out well.

It's OK, but I still prefer Winamp as I dont want or need a combind media player! I use Winamp for music and VLC for movies job done! And both lightweight.

Precisely why and how does it "beat iTunes hands down"?

It can't be particularly hard. iTunes is this singlemost bloated and hateful piece of software I have installed on any of my PCs - I only use it out of necessity due to having an iPhone.

It's horrendously slow and unresponsive, and frequently crashes. I've even had blue screens when syncing - which, without any errors, can randomly take anywhere from 30 seconds to over half an hour.

That said, if you use it on a Mac - it's perfect.
