Maybe the NAS drive cannot do what i want but basicly ive got a 2TB already inside it and i want to share whats already on the HDD but i cannot seem to find the option to do this?! All i can see is i have to run the setup wizzard which means it will format the drive.

Does anyone have any ideas if i can share folders on the drive via the NAS without having to go buy another 2TB drive and copying it over the netowrk?

Many thanks!

now going through tthis manual - ftp://ftp.zyxel.com/NSA221/user_guide/NSA221_v4_ed1.pdf

It's down to file systems. It's likely that your hard drive is formatted in NTFS, these NAS will probably required EXT2 or similar so the drive will need to be reformatted before it can be used.

thanks -......aha I think I see - presumably then you originally put in a drive with files already on it and thats why you couldn't doing any sharing as I assume you would normally put in a blank drive or two and then the NAS formats it ready for use and sharing etc?
