Any all electric cars available at the moment, looking around the old Rav4 EV did 9500rpm?

Does seem to say 9000rpm in most places now I look further, did find some references (and also youtube videos) of 9.5k however.

The 997 GT3 MK2 goes to 8500rpm, my 996 MK2 went to 8200 in first 4 gears, which isn't bad for a 3.6L 6 cylinder and my RS4 goes to 8000rpm which is pretty good for a 4.2L V8. E46 M3's went to 8000rpm.

The e60 M5 is quite impressive given the engine size - 5.0 V10, 8250RPM iirc.

I was about to mention the Diahatsu Copen, but they've binned the 660cc Turbo (which went to 8500rpm) for a 1.3.

F20C equiped Honda S2000 revs through to 9250 RPM, or, if you are me downshifting into 3rd on the back straight for the quick left right at bedford, just shy of 11500 rpm.

Story goes...

Shifting down, forgot to check how much speed I'd scrubbed off, shifted into 3rd at just over 110 mph (limiter is ~93) car sounded like a very angry bee.... got through the corner... tapped the throttle and all seemed ok, took the next two straights short shifting at 7k, and then just went back up to max revs as previous. That was about 6 months ago now and it hasn't missed a beat.

It's going to be something on carbs.

If you left an old old Uno 45 in 3rd gear it would eventually pass 9000RPM, I'm sure something will be able to do more, for about 10 seconds.

I think the point is what it revs up to as per spec, not what it can do before destruction

I put my old Punto into 1st at about 45mph by accident (top speed in first was about 30). It's just like really really harsh engine breaking, whole car feels like it's being yanked back. Not good.

I'm torn between the engine melting, or the oil just catching fire. Obviously, it would be so hot, it wouldn't need oxygen to burn*. :cool:

I've seen a Tipo making a nasty racket after someone missed 4th and got 2nd at about 80mph. Turns out the fan blades on the alternator had spread out and were catching something, engine was fine.

I was thinking stuff with no limiter that will naturally get up there, would prolly have to be a safe engine.
