OcUK Poker Thread.

How did it go Lima?

Went terrible! I lasted a little while, chips going up and down like a rollercoaster, was completely card dead for about an hour, then when I was desperate for a double up, I got it all in pre with qq against 2 players and lost to kk.

I should never have played really, i spent about $230 on satellites which failed then bought in direct.... My bankroll on pokerstars has taken a little spanking lol :o

Back to playing Omaha cash games on full tilt!

WOW.... I gave up after the madness that kicked off during he big SM satellite. Annoyed me so much that I've since opened a carbon poker account. Sadly carbon poker doesn't lookup to scratch just yet. Will give it another 12 months or so before making a deposit... Any of you use it?

I'm a casual player and play a couple of weeks with friends but just for little cash, nothing serious at all, would you recommend playing online just for a bit of fun?

has everyone seen this, play at Wembley stadium with a 1m Euro 1st prize, nice :)

Was an absolute joke for ages, seems like DTD taking over the running of it might just save it.

Well DTD getting involved and changing the whole event into something rather different to what was originally proposed has saved it to some extent.

The original proposal was an unfeasible joke a 30 million 'guarantee' (which has now gone - seemingly the french don't understand the meaning of the word guarantee) and the previous proposal had the idea of thousands of players playing on laptops in the stands - when questioned on the practicalities of this and quite importantly whether the organisers had ever tried something like this on a smaller scale (players in the live venue on laptops then progressing to playing live) the rep on one forum didn't seem to fully grasp the concerns.

Its now turned into a more modest 'guarantee' which apparently is now an actual guarantee and the Day 1 is simply taking place online... not some rather dubious idea of 1000s of people supposedly bringing laptops along to a stadium.

there will also be live Day1s at various venues

Have recently decided to have a break from tournament games. Doing so has given me more time to play cash games.

So far I'm on a decent run - Some highlights

Overall I'm doing pretty well and have only had a handful of bad beats.

One of my more frustrating moves....
