I plan on getting a 290X but I just ordered BF4 + Premium for £55 which I think is a bit of a bargain... If this deal was the actual 290X price once it's generally released plus BF4 or even BF4 + Premium for free I would be all over this throwing money at anyone who cared

Of topic I realise but where the hell did you find that bf4 deal??

I know you can't reveal the price but can you at least say whether the BF4 edition carries a price premium over a vanilla card? And do you have a feel for vanilla card availability at launch?

I am more interested in the card than he game.

I suspect a £15-£20 premium, but can't be 100% sure!

Doing some maths now...

I already have 2x 7950s + I7 3770k and a Sabertooth Z77, so I can't go trifire (actually I already tried, It works but because the 3rd slot is pci-e 2.0 4x the performance increase of the 3rd card is not that good)
I'm gaming at 5760x1080

Option 1:
2x R290X, so let's say £1000.00 - 300.00 (that I can sell my 2x 7950s) I would end up spending £700.00.

Option 2:
Upgrade my CPU, MB, PSU and add one more 7950 = 4930K + 2011MB + 1000W psu + msi 7950 = £1020.00 - £420.00 (from my 3770k, MB and old PSU) I would end up spending £600.00

Option 3:
Wait 20nm :D

I'll hold my hands up to say i've pre-ordered one of these (my first Overclockers order infact)

Main reasons is that it only appears to take up two slots (not triple) like a lot of the 7970's and I haven't upgraded for exactly 3 years when I bought my AMD 6870.

That was £182 though so prices have gone up considerably. It does have 4x the amount of video Ram as my current card though :D
