I'll tell you what a 290X at 1200 core matches my stock 7950 crossfire setup.

Gibbo's 290X @1200/1500 - Valley - 73.1 FPS - Score 3059

LtMatt's 7950 Crossfire @925/1250 - Valley - 73.1 FPS - Score 3059

That is impressive. :)

Yep just gonna say the Heaven 4.0 benchmark for the OC 290X is almost identical to my stock 7950 crossfire, impressed, especially with the price but my 7950 crossfire will be way cooler and lots of room for overclocking. :D

It's just ahead of my 670 SLI with both cards at max overclock. I can get about 70-71fps.

edit: actually, ignore that - it's Heaven not Valley. The 670s are just ahead instead.

Yes same here, still the 290X can go further i bet. I'll be happy to run a comparison at an overclock vs a 290X user (maybe Kaap) that will push the cards further than 1200 core 15000 memory.

Interesting, thanks for the info teppic. :)

I made a mistake ;) My Heaven benchmark is about 70-71fps with max OC, while the 290X is 65fps in the benchmark here. That's still really impressive for the 290X though given these are high end 670s with excellent cooling.

Furry muff. I was comparing Valley Extreme HD preset on 290X vs 7950 Stock. :)

would a 120mm radiator be enough to cool one of these in its own loop?

Yes, it would be capable, but given the heat this card seems to put out, if I was WC it, I would be doing so to get best out of it so would want as much rad space as possible. Dont think I would go to expense of WC it without 2x120 rad space at least, in its own loop. In a loop with CPU would be 3x120 minimum, but most likely 4x120.

Also depends on the thickness and efficiency of rads, plus tr kind of fans and acoustics you are willing to bare!

When are your pre-fitted waterblock ones coming into stock Gibbo, and what memory will they have?

£30 seems quite a reasonable premium to pay so I don't have to fiddle about fitting one myself :)
