The one I got was in bad shape and sold as non working, the battery contacts were shot with corrosion, stripped it all down and scrubbed the contacts with a wire brush and everything was working :)
The best thing for corrosion is white vinegar or apple cider vinegar works just as good, put that on the battery contacts and watch the corrosion fizz away, it works like magic in minutes. Minimal scrubbing if any at all. Finish them off with some IPA.

cheers mate, I'm actually going to try that today as the ones I've cleaned are not 100%

Been faffing around with SD cards for my 3 x Analogue devices, realising how temperamental they are with some SD cards, trying to get firmwares updated and games working from said SD card 'backups'. Additionally been connecting the appropriate 8BitDo controllers to each device, which are all now working as they should. At some point over the coming couple of weeks my intent is to get out my vintage home computer and retro console collection, clean them, test them and sell them.

Time is the first challenge, then motivation to start the job needed.

I bought a 2010 Samsung 720p 32" TV for my PS2 and Dreamcast. I cracked one day whilst trying to use my modern TV with terrible input delay, and wanted one NOW on gumtree lol. I can't fit a CRT on my desk and this old TV has lots of inputs if I want to hook up 720p consoles and PS1 mini/ Amiga 500 mini etc. 32" is big for a desk and if I had been patient looking on Gumtree I probably should have bought a 26/7" TV.

It has good input delay. It's got ghosting but I can live with that. The image quality on 720p video is pretty good and the sound quality is a bit nicer than my modern TV.

I currently seem to have a thing with early PS2 games and I'm tracking down the games I never played: GTA3, Jak and Daxter, Shadow of Memories, Ridge Racer, Wipeout, Ico...

Cannot recommend KeeperFX enough. Playable on modern PCs with 100s of bugfixes and QoL updates. Recently completed the main game which is slightly more challenging with the smarter AI. Now working on newgame+ which is the same but edited and "fixed" to stop cheese methods and be a real challenge!

Bought an old PS1 with an Xstation fitted and been playing it solidly for days. Should have got one ages ago, I forgot how good many games from the era were/are.

I’ve also just received a Pixel FX G.E.M. HDMI mod which I’ll need to have fitted, along with a new shell from Yoei. It should look awesome when it’s all complete.

Read about Majora's Mask having an unofficial PC port so before Nintendo get it removed, figured I'd give it a try :D

Works remarkably well, ultrawide and unlocked fps, just need the HD texture pack supported and I can replay this. Ocarina of Time coming soon too it seems.

Spent most of the day trying to get XP installed on a Via chipset 939 AGP board but after trying everything I can think of I’ve thrown the towel in and used an IDE to SATA converter. Between not picking up my sata drives in the bios and XP not recognising them despite using the official drivers during install, I gave up. Not sure why I had so much trouble on this particular board and not others but meh. Got board of trawling through forum posts from the early to mid 2000’s trying to figure it out!

I’ve considered getting a small 4:3 LCD but a decent one seems hard to come by these days. Want it for my 3 x Analgoue devices really more than my older original kit.

Welcome recommendations

I've been playing around with PCem on a relatively modern netbook type device i've got lying around to see what type of system i can run on it.
I'm hoping it can manage a P166 mmx but we shall see...

If this falls through it will still make for a nice DosBox device
