This post died down so it seems, any people playing it? I added the names mentioned on first post, I got into the game back in 2014 however I didn't like it much then, not sure why. After I saw the Cap America Civil War pack on Steam for £2 I decided to give it another go and boy what a change.

I understand that these days the character and costumes no longer drop but who cares, game deserves some cash pored into it.

For anyone reading this now, Diablo 3 game but much better, 60 Heroes/Villains from Marvel Universe, they keep up to date with Marvel events and Movies.

I'm still playing a bit here and there, but a lot less since I finished my tenth Cosmic prestige (I'm never going to get 42).

Of the two heroes since Elektra, Angela is OK but nothing special - sort of a melee War Machine is the best way to describe her - and Ultron is amazing in his variety. He's good as a summoner, but I prefer to play him as a ranged/melee hybrid using 100% of his bandwidth on specialisations. He pukes out damage like nothing on earth with no resource concerns of any kind.

I didn't mind it but the main chain was never expanded forever and I found the high level farming completely baffling with nothing making sense into what I needed to farm.

Like the Marvel link but PoE is a mile better game.

Big, fundamental changes coming.

Greetings!

Are you ready for the biggest systems update in the history of Marvel Heroes 2016?
I am TheArtofRawr, Lead Systems Designer for Marvel Heroes 2016, and it is my special privilege to tell you about some of the exciting new developments we have under way. We’ve been quietly cooking up a storm here on the design team, and we will be revealing a host of great upgrades across many systems in the coming weeks. Did I mention that this will be the biggest systems update in the history of the game? Well, it is, and we are quite excited about what’s in store. Over the course of several game updates (and associated blogs explaining them in more detail), we will be modifying or retrofitting these core game systems:

  • Hero Power Updates
  • Item Updates
  • Omega System Updates
  • Personal Difficulty Slider
Today, we wanted to take a moment to share with you about the flagship for this fleet of upgrades – the Hero Power Updates.

Most of the new game has arrived, but some key features (such as the new Omega items) are not yet here. No doubt there will also be some significant tweaking of the game in the coming weeks/months.

I just rushed all the heroes up to 60 in the last couple of weeks (I had a lot of splinters) so logging in yesterday meant at least an hour sorting out the stash and inventories, putting cores back onto heroes, and equipping my main and setting up omegas/powers. Be prepared for a lot of tidying up if you've not logged in for a while.

I've give this another go tomorrow and maybe I'll see it differently then when I try some different toons but on first impression all my mains are ****Ed and they really have screwed the pooch here.

They've scaled all the numbers down, but it's still not right. People were complaining they couldn't finish a green raid (timed out at the first bosses) so Gaz had to scale down the health of the bosses. I bet there will be loads of tuning like that to be done. It will take ages to get sorted.

Plus we don't have any of the Omega items, and Infinity progressions seems to be super slow.

I don't think they've screwed it so much as they've introduced half of a mega-update and some heroes have fallen through the cracks. Omega gear will fix a lot of it, and then they'll tune everything to fix the rest.

Incidentally, does anyone know how to set the game up for ultrawide?

Which is fine if your heroes of choice are relatively unscathed, if they aren't (like say someone who mains summoner iceman who between poor updates of his unique, lack of summon nodes in infinity compared to omega and losing options thanks to talents is in a terrible state) "it'll be alright in 4 months when we do the rest of the update and you can regear" isn't an acceptable answer.

Particularly when Gaz already have form when it comes to promising big and then delivering half of it.

My main gaming metric is "is it fun?" and I have to say that Gaz have reduced the fun factor down to the point where I am no longer interested in playing. They've done so many things to slow the game down, drag out the grind, and reduce rewards whilst increasing monetization, that it's past the point where I'm having any fun.

It doesn't help that they've basically reduced the game back to a beta state, where the half of the game that reduces your ability to play is there, but the new omega gear you need to get back up to some sensible level of performance is still months away. It's just not fun any more, so I'll be playing other games. There's plenty of other games I need to catch up on, so I guess I should thank Gaz for breaking my two-and-a-half year addiction to MH.
