Our competitors are all around or above £200 for this same card, were over £60 cheaper, in percentage terms that is nearly 50%, yes OcUK nearly 50% cheaper. THIS PRICE IS PRE-ORDER ONLY and stock arrives Friday, on Friday we shall increase the price by approx £10-£15 still making us over 30% cheaper than anywhere else or a good £40-£50. :D

OK so currently I have one of these running under water on a HX750. Would it be ok to stick one of these in on air, and will the PSU power it?
 
Hehe good question Fox, I don't know, it's not an easy choice, both will demolish my GTX 260, both are great deals ...I don't need the extra power of the 480, but there is just something about the idea of having that card that makes me smile. I really don't know what to do now. I would like to keep the nosie and heat down though.

I'm in the same boat, I've literaly just got a samsung 2233rz monitor so I'll be gaming in 1680x1050 for a few years yet - that swings it to the 470 for me :)
 
I've got a 480 on order, but thinking about 2 of these. Only thing is my PCI-E slots are close together so I'm wondering how temps will be....
 
Now that common sense is starting to kick back in I am leaning towards the 470 tbh, saving 50 quid, better cooler, quieter, cooler running, probably overclock nicely should I wish and in all honesty I doubt I would use all the power of a 460 much less a 480.

Unless you overlock the 480 that is:).

Both are great deals. The 480 has 20% more VRAM/bandwidth plus a few extra shaders/ROP's. It may also overclock slightly better due to 1x8 + 1x6 pin connectors but is it worth £50 more?

I guess that extra memory may come in handy for those who game at 1920x1200 or higher, but 1920x1080 and below probably won't notice much differene.
 
How would this compare to a 5850? I can overclocked the 5850 to 950/1150. Any advantage in upgrading here?

Main use will be FSX which is rumoured to prefer nvidia cards.
