Yeah but the reduction of pre season testing and ban on in season testing is confirmed. The reduction in race weekend practice is an idea, and not one that includes an increase in testing, so it remains a stupid idea.

It could be changed into a better one, but at the moment that isn't what's being proposed, and what you stated you agreed with.

In all honesty it would be easily done. Currently the calendar sits like this:

The revised provisional calendar in full:

March 20 - Australia
April 3 - Bahrain
April 17 - China
May 1 - Sochi
May 15 - Spain(3 day test)
May 29 - Monaco
June 12 - Canada
June 19 - Baku*
July 3 - Austria
July 10 - Britain (3 day test)
July 24 - Hungary
July 31 - Germany
August 28 - Belgium
September 4 - Italy
September 18 - Singapore
October 2 - Malaysia
October 9 - Japan
October 23 - USA(3 day young driver test)
November 6 - Mexico
November 13 - Brazil
November 27 - Abu Dhabi

You could easily have tests as above. Permanent tracks so staying back a couple of extra days isn't a big deal. Britain especially as most of the teams are within two hours drive. Some of the engineers could probably stay at home!

Not sure they could do it all with the double headers. There are three. I hope Belgium and Italy are back to back in 2017 as I'm hoping to do them both.
