Star Citizen Alpha Patch 3.23.0​

Alpha Patch 3.23.0 has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.23.0-EPTU.9128215-9129117.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\EPTU.

Characters in this new environment will be built from LTP data so items such as medpens, ammo, rentals, and refinery jobs will be lost.

The current build is under NDA (Talking about features and testing is allowed but no sharing of game video, screenshots, audio, files, or accounts outside of Evocati)
Please log out then back in on the issue council site to see the Evocati environment there. Please make sure to only select the Evocati 3.23 environment when creating IC reports while the builds are Evocati only

Please monitor etf-testing-chat in spectrum for updates and testing instructions.
Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the "Testing Focus". Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues
You may want to avoid Area18 as opening your mobiGlas in the city will cause a client crash!
2 Known issues caused by UI crash fix:
Edit Boxes won't deselect if user clicks in empty spaces around the canvas, means the user would need to click a button to clear and deselect the edit box.
When using the searchbar in the starmap you have to use the x to deselect the searchbar , otherwise you cant klick on objects on the map
  • PU - UI - mobiGlas / Visor / Lens - Elements within the mobiGlas / Visor / Lens will not update till the player moves their mouse around a considerable amount
  • PU - Stanton - Multiple Locations - AI - AI are spawning together in group and they can be slow to leave their spawn points
  • PU - RL - Service Beacons / Missions - Service beacons cannot be created
  • Stanton - UI / Shopping Kiosks - Players are unable to select items by clicking 3D icon
  • PU - Stanton - Lorville - Female / AI - Females - There are no female social AI present around Lorville
  • PU - Stanton - Locations / AI / Animation - AI can be seen floating off the ground at multiple locations
  • PU - Interactions / UI - Panels become unresponsive, after highlighting interactables
  • PU - Terminal - Locations / Interactions / UI - Unable to interact with the Medical Insurance Terminal to manage regeneration

Features and Gameplay​


Locations
  • Updated Water Polish Pass
We have completely reworked the wave simulation and rendering of all water in Star Citizen in addition to creating a new multi-scale region-based water surface simulation system. Oceans and Water Volumes are now affected by all physical objects as well as forces from thruster and ship wake. Caustics are fully reworked to be both faster and driven by the dynamic results of the new water simulation. Underwater fog has been reworked to resolve various rendering issues, and the appearance of water when intersecting the camera has been vastly improved. Updated water interactions to react to explosions. Fixed missing river UVs.

AI
  • New Fauna: Kopion
The Kopion is a 4 legged hound-like creature that resides in Savanas, snow, desert, and cave biomes. This creature is not hostile when alone and will retreat to the nearest Kopion if it exists. Although afraid of humanoids when alone, the Kopion tends to roam in packs which will cause the pack to become hostile to creatures they encounter where they will use their sharp claws and teeth to do multiple melee attacks which include biting and pouncing at their target.
  • New Fauna: Marok
The Marok is a birdlike creature with a long beak and batlike wings is part of the BOID (Bird-Oid Objects) family with flocking behavior. They are not hostile to humanoids and their flocks will disperse when approached. The Marok are native to savanas, snow, desert, and cave biomes and come in multiple feature colors that suit their environments.

Gameplay

  • Fixed - PU - Character Customizer - feature library heads are hidden when re-entering customizer
  • Fixed - PU - Actor / Vehicles - Loot Inventory / UI - Players are unable to store items in vehicle external inventories using the loot screen
  • Fixed - PU - Visor / Lens / Markers / Missions - New style mission location HUD AR markers have placeholder text
  • Fixed - Character Customizer - Fix hair length not updating after randomization
  • Fixed - PU - Stanton - Animation - Shopping / Interaction - Rotating the player character in Try On mode is very difficult
  • Fixed - PU - Character Customizer - UI - In HAIR session player model and library bust can rotate unsynced
  • Fixed - PU - Stanton - Hurston - Lorville Ocean - Locations / Art / Water Tech - The floating debris found on the ocean near Lorville extends beyond the shoreline onto the land
