I don't like controlling them all though, or the stop/start nature of the battles.
Ah ok. IIRC you can set AI scripts in Icewind Dale and original BGs, but they're fairly generic from memory, caster, defender, priest, thief etc. Icewind Dale and the original BG games are not turn based like BG3 is, they're real time with pause available to you.
BG3 and the original baldurs gate 1+2 and icewind dale 1+2 games play very differently - it's one of the reasons I was disappointed with BG3.
That's not to say you'd like them, just more of an FYI.

Yeah I loved the original BG and then Neverwinter. Looking forward to BG3 when I buy it.

Bargain! If you never have, you should. Best campaign FPS possibly ever. Multiplayer is full of bouncing jumping no scope Kraber kiddies but Frontier Defence is still fun and fills quickly.

I considered Titanfall, you don't need a stupid "launcher" do you?
It will need to run through EA Play (despite owning it on Steam).
Which is okay if you have account as you can click on it in Steam and it will launch EA Play and run.
I do get you though, as in if you don't want yet another launcher etc.

It's weird that I never heard of Helldivers until 2 came out. The first one looks pretty good..
I've enjoyed it. You're locked to the same screen as others in co-op if that bothers you.

Yes, Magicka is really excellent, especially four of you playing at the same time. How to lose friends easily with a few mis-aimed spells.
